1915-D over D Buffalo Nickel

VetterVetter Posts: 850 ✭✭✭✭✭
Looking over my Buffalo Nickels I found a 1915-D over D. It's the same one listed in Lange's book. RPM-1. The coin grades XF. Anyone know if this addes any value to the coin? Just how scarce are they?

Thanks

I wouldn't trust the CPG's comment "very rare"; it seems to be one of the more common early Buffalo RPMs.

On the other hand, it is one of the more pronounced RPMs in the series...so bonus points there.

ANACS has graded two in lower mint state grades and another dozen or so in various circulated grades. Many of nicer Buffalo RPMs condition-wise that I've seen are unattributed in PCGS and NGC holders...so ANACS is probably not too accurate in determining rarity either.

I've been buying RPMs from this series at a 50%+ premium lately pretty much across the board.
