Walter Payton Rookie

New to the board as of today. I have two Walter Payton rookies that are in pretty good shape. On the better one (see below), the entire right edge is a slight bit fuzzy as if cut with a not perfectly sharp knife. This is the way the card came out of the pack as I am the only owner of the card. The centering appears perfect and the corners are sharp. I am thinking of joining PSA to get this and other cards graded. From the photo below is there any feed back you can give me (i.e. is it worth getting this card graded). I primarily have 1970 to 1974 Topps baseball cards (a little over 5,400).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Pic isn't sharp and is small but a guess a 7 maybe an 8 ? The upper left corner looks soft.

Very nice card - I'd say PSA 7 to 8. Turn your PM on - I'd like to make you an offer if you're interested in selling.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I couldn't make the picture sharper - was having trouble keeping under the 50k limit. The softness of the upper left is totally due to the image quality.

Any feedback on the dullness of the cut on the right hand side of the card. I know you can't tell from the picture but it is like the cutting blade they used was a little dull.

    Thanks.
  • Greg,

Not sure I'd be willing to sell before I had it graded but certainly willing to listen - - PM on.

    Thanks for your feedback.

Anything of particular interest to you in 71 to 74 Topps baseball?

Bharrelson, The rough cut can be very common on certain issues, not sure if that's the case with '76 football but PSA takes nothing off for rough cuts on issues where that is common.

    I'd definitely have it graded.
