Anyone know when we can expect 2005 Topps Heritage Retail to hit the stores?

Is that my alumni friend, Darren Sproles in your new icon?
Sorry to hijack the thread - just had to give my school some luv!

Yes, that is Sproles. Man that guy was fun to watch. Hope he gets a decent shot in the pro's. I'm a KSU alum as well.

Hi Knop
How have your been?!
The release date on the Topps Heritage is Feb 16th and I would guess you can expect to see it at your local Walmart or Target by about Feb 25th - but keep a sharp eye - could be wrong. With Target, the Excel corp. has the current contract on cards - you can ask the manager when he will be around and get the drop off date from him.
We will obviously not know what to expect with the retail blister boxes until we open one - i.e. - will they keep it beefed up with SP's like last year? The experience I had and shared by JoeStalin is that the retail stuff is very short on the autos! So if those are your deal - the hobby would be the way to go. Check the card shops early since they jump in price real fast. Last year the shops started at 60 and jumped to 95 over nite!!!
Well, let's have some fun and break the wall of wiwag with some good ole honest horsetrading!!!

How have you been? Thanks for the info! What do you mean by Target and Excel (What is Excel?) having contracts?

Target does not buy their stuff direct from companies like Topps - they buy from a distributor/vendor - in this case Excel company has reps all over the country who visit the Target stores on their route - check the displays, monitor sales, and provide the store with their product.

Think I could buy them direct from Excel? I think I bought about 40 retail boxes last year. If I could pick them all up at once, that would save a lot of time and gas!
