Simple, but great question. Most people flee once it's believed it's a sheet cut. However, aren't most cards sheet cut, but by the factory? To some, the fact that it never went through mass distribution - packs, human hands, wear & tear, etc. - demeans the card. To others, high grade is all that matters, even though the card's condition wasn't achieved through preservation.
Just know that most pre-'76 OPC BVG high grades are sheet cut.

Unfortunately i was the bearer of BAD news for Larry Alfaro. He had purchased that BVG card from Tagheuer on ebay not realizing it was a sheet cut card. He was hoping PSA would cross it over. I told him, NOPE. It is now currently back up on ebay now listed for $279.
I purchased a 1968 BVG 9 Tony Perez on Ebay last year and sure enough it was sheet cut and PSA would not cross it over. I thought about selling it again but it is an attractive card and have decided to keep it.

Does "sheet-cut" matter?
Loves me some shiny!
I personally would expect any clean cut OPC to be sheet cut no matter whose holder it's in.
