1884 Morgan Great toning

Pick this one up also does the toning really add to the price?

That depends on what you paid.
    I collect circulated U.S. silver
  • And what mintmark it is.

  • This is a very attractive coin, I would say the tone adds to the eye appeal tremendously. Eye appeal is one of the biggies in valuation so my answer would be 'Yes', but as with all coins the appeal is in the eye of the beholder.

  • I paid 48.00 for it and it's a P mint mark

That toning should add no premium to that coin. JMHO

If a fair number of toning fans like its eye appeal, it should have at least a modest premium. I don't see this as the type of bubble-coin that some may pay $500 for, but someone may pay a few bucks over sheet if they like it. That's not a bad price for what you got.
  • Nice Coin - I have three just not toned - but I like this one.

That toning will add an easy premium...although not tremendous amounts. I would be willing to pay up to 65 if were in a pcgs64 holder. Nice buy!

  • It's such a common coin, the nice condition and toning virtually represents it's entire value, IMHO. If it gets a gem grade, it could add a lot percentage wise--like over 100%, if a couple of bidders really want it at auction. If you're going to buy a common date Morgan, why not get a really pretty unique example like this one? Nice coin IMO.image

  • You know I wish I could discribe the color it's like a pinkish red with some blue mix in it. Oh I went back and double check what I paid for it and I was wrong it was $39.00 the 48.00 was for a 1941 S Walking Liberty so it was a good buy . It went to the grader today woth the 1932 S Washington which I'm hoping comes back at least a MS63 I know it un-circulated it's just there appears to be some rubbing on it so I'll have to wait and see what they say.
