Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

New to 'this' forum - I have an observation and couple of questions.

Hi - I usually hang out at either the Light or Darkside coin forum - and sometimes drift into open forum. But I just finished researching some cards that someone wants me to sell, and gather than Nolan Ryan cards, etc. are just not selling right now.

Can anyone tell me if there are any valuable cards in the 90 Upper Deck Baseball Heroes or 1991 Pacific set from. I was 'told' there were a couple that are valuable, yet am NOT seeing that whatsoever. Some of the cards are 'missing' from the set, but don't see that any of them are worth much except to someone who collects them and enjoys it. I prefer coins - no offense. I was just trying to help a friend. This stuff isn't even worth the listing fee - it's truly a shame/sad. (Not for me, but for those who collect this stuff - or used to.)??

Boy the BB card market really has crashed. Do you think it will ever go back up again? What happened anyway - all the strikes???

Well thanks for listening.

Thanks - Pam

  • not too many "rare" coins printed in the 1990's either. the card market is very good you just have to look at what graded vintage cards are selling at,not over-printed 1980's/90's junk.

    Pam,
Its all about grading now. And it would have to be a gem mint 10 to elicite anything more than a yawn from collectors.

    Loves me some shiny!

The market I am in (65 topps baseball and 62 Mars Attacks) is anything but down. I can't get a 9 as of late if my life depended on it.

    Good for you.

Hasn't crashed on what I collect- vintage (pre WW2) is up 200-300% in the last few years.
All the post '80 stuff was so over produced any value was false anyway, so it had to come down. Remember the price of silver in '79? that kind of false value.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I see that Griffin understands what I mean. Considering every member of my family owned or worked at the Sports card store(s), I am not totally stupido. I do understand what you mean about

    over-printed 1980's/90's junk

And I do know about grading too.

    Thanks for your input.
