To those of you who are poker players:
I've been a semi professional player for the last few years, and finally got around to developing an excel spreadsheet template that can track wins and losses. All you have to do is fill in the blank spaces for Date, game played, hours played, buy in, and cash out, and all results are populated.
It tracks total wins/losses, as well as total return, return expressed as a percent of a goal, HOURLY RATE OF RETURN, and running bankroll - with allowances for deposits and withdrawals into the bankroll.
It does the above calculations on both a monthly, and year to date basis.
It is three worksheets, the first shows cash play, and total returns, the second shows results for single table tournaments, and the last shows multi table tournaments - all of which populate back to the first sheet to express total return.
Anyone interested just post your email address and I will be happy to send you the template. All you need to do is open it, label the month, and begin inputting results. At the start of a new month, you just need to replace the "0" in the YTD calculations box with the YTD result of the previous month, and you're well on your way to tracking exactly how well you do.
