Anyone interested in a 1913 Culion Leper Colony 1 Centavo?

A friend of mine who is an expert in Philippine Guerrilla notes and dealt a lot in Filipino coins, currency and medals before his retirement has a rare 1913 Culion Leper Colony 1 Centavo. This is the rare KM2 in Aluminum. I understand they are rare in all grades and my friend tells me it's the best he saw in all of his years of collecting and dealing (which is why he has it). I don't know whether it's a thin or thick planchet, but I think the thick.

I've seen it in person and it looks like it would be about XF except that there are several areas where something has damaged the surface of this soft coin. I understand this is common with these coins. If anybody here is a specialist and is seriously interested, please let me know and I'll place you in contact with him.

I'll have to check and see for sure if I need it but I know I need several of the 1913 issues. I'll get back with you in about 24 hours. Ask him what he's wanting for it.

I seem to recall him saying something in the upper $800s, but I really don't know what he feels he "has to have" for it.

Wow, I would have said yes, but it's way out of my price league. If the 1 cent pieces are worth so much, how much is a half cent piece worth in AU?

The Half Cents are actually quite cheap. Krause lists them at $6 in BU. This is probably because few circulated.

I'd be alot more interested in a Japanese Leprosarium coin from the period of 1912-48!
