Once when I was waiting outside a team hotel to get some auto's, Will Clark (then of the Rangers) came out and started to sign. Someone had him sign a baseball and asked for the "sweetspot." He obliged and then stated, "So what are you gonna sell that for now? Fifty, sixty bucks?" The autograph seeker then replied, "Don't flatter yourself." Needless Clark was slightly miffed, but nonetheless the rest of us got a chuckle out of it.
Same concept - Mary Lou Rhetton was signing and a guy brought up two things to sign - she retorted in a snotty tone - what ya gonna do - sells these. The guy told her...like sure, your auto is worth a bundle - I'm getting these signed for my sisters...I couldn't even give them away!
