What was your worst coin shop experience?

Now that we have the good experiences pehaps some of the bad ones will help us all learn. My worst experience was at a shop in Annapolis MD. I won't name the place but I was not as up to speed as I am now with numismatics and this is where I made some of my worst and possibly most costly mistakes. How about a dealer giving you three times face value for Mercury dimes from the fourties in MS condition? I still don't know if that was really a good deal to this day since I don't collect the series. I don't know if there was a 1945 P full band or 2 over 1 variety in that lot. This is why it pays to read, read, read and of coarse come to these boards. Bottom line is to do your homework before you rush into a dealer to sell. Some dealers will tell you what you have and are honest but they are hard to come by anymore.
