Proof IHC doubling??

Ok, I have absolutely no clue about IHCs and varieties. I bought this because the coin is just awesome. Very nice blues and purples. 1885 graded NGC PR66BN. Looking at it, I see what I would normally say is doubling. Is this "normal" on proof IHCs or at least 1885? This only appears on "United States of America"




That's actually 2 photos, but the way it loaded, it looks like one.

Looks like Longacre doubling (e.g. late state doubling), which is common on IHC's.

Longacre Doubling, I have an 1885 Proof indian just like it. And the fact that it appears on proof dies should definitely show tha it is NOT the result of chipping on worn dies like some people have claimed. Proof dies aren't used long enough to become hat extensively "chipped", and note that the edges of the secondary images are straight and smooth. Not the kind of edges you would expect to see if the doubling had come from a bunch of chipping along the edges of the letters.
