1983 halves: what's this brown coating with wrinkles that looks like skin?

I know you;re gonna ask for pics, but I can't seem to get a good pic that shows what i'm trying to describe to you. Anyone know what this wrinkled-skin-like coating on my 83 halves? It looks almost like Coke was spilled on them and allowed to dry. thanks guys.

Not sure what your seeing but, it could be toning, or the surface of the coin
is wrinkled looking due to a alittle thang called LDS, late die state.
Worn dies will strike coins whos surfaces appear wavy or irregular.
