He may be referring to the centering, which isn't ideal - maybe within tolerance for a PSA 10, but not ideal nonetheless.

In the world of 75's, I think that one is a beauty! Here is a Ryan mini that I like, presents well but doesn't look anywhere near as good as that one.

The centering is borderline, but still within the criteria for a ten. Very nice card.
  • Stone193: Do you own that mini Ryan? It's a beauty and I'd like to have for my set. I think you should sell it to me. Please

Yes. Has been in my Ryan raw collection since 1992. Wish I had an extra. It actually looks better in person since the scanner light is making the bottom border look rough. I really like the mini's but never got around to collecting the set.

    Thanx for the kind words

Yes, I was referring to the front L-R centering. Looks like 80-20. That is within the criteria? I don't have a problem with the corners.
  • I think the back needs to be 90/10

Come on. 80/20 is a 4 to 1 ratio. That card is better than 2-1 LR. While I agree it's not great centering for a ten, it is nowhere near as bad as you imply.

I agree - centering is a hair better than 60/40 without printing it out and measuring.

While the centering looks in the neighborhood of 60/40, this should help answer your question.......

From PSA's Grading Standards - Eye Appeal

Again, the vast majority of grading is applied with a basic, objective standard but no one can ignore the small (yet sometimes significant) subjective element. This issue will usually arise when centering and/or eye-appeal are in question. For example, while most cards fall clearly within the centering guidelines for a particular grade, some cards fall either just within or just outside the printed centering standards. The key point to remember is that the graders reserve the right, based on the strength or weakness of the eye-appeal, to make a judgment call on the grade of a particular card.

Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
