Bowman Chrome Centering help

Hello to all of the experts out there, I need your help. I am an avid Angels fans and while I collect mostly older stuff, I do also collect rookie cards of my modern favorites. I recently purchased this Frankie Rodriguez 2000 Bowman Chrome Rookie Card. The card is in great shape, no scratches, great corners, etc. My only question is this card as an autograph strip down the rightside of the card, so I can not get a good handle on whether centering is good or not. I will link a scan of the card, so you can give me your opinions. Please disregard the surface of the card, I scanned the card in a penny sleeve, and my fingerprints are showing on the scan. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

David

Asymettrical cards like this are always tough to judge. I think in general, though, yours is a little bit to the right than preferred. The left border between the edge and picture frame should be closer to 1/8 inch. And theT/B centering is off, too. That should be even on both sides.

  • What I would try and do is search out other Bowman Chrome examples on eBay. If PSA 10 is what you're after then I'd try to find some examples of cards in that grade and compare the centering. Otherwise just look at lots of examples and try to get a good idea of where the picture should be on the card. I think PSA is a bit lenient when the centering is this subjective without borders on each side.
  • Thank you AJ, I appreciate your help.
