ANACS question....

I sent a submission to ANACS under their "2 day" submission for $30.00 per. Upon receipt @ ANACS, how long does it take for them to grade, slab and return? Thanks in advance.image

What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

You hope that the grading and slabbing would be done within the two business days after they get them, the return is the big mystery (registered mail is sometimes very slow). I had a 5 day ANACS order in before, they finally got around to getting them out the door in 7 days, they used FEDEX on the return to try to make up for the extra days.

They take too long at ANACS!
I have a coin in with someone else and it has been ~2 months now for their "Slow boat to China" grading service.
Ya'all wanta b!!tch about PCGS and timeframes? Well, ANACS is NO better!

Use the 5 day service, never economy. Extra $3 a coin and door-to-door in two weeks flat.

    Tom,

On two day service, the actual grading time will be very quick, the time enroute back will be depending on the postal service and your location.

I have found that ANACS turnaround times even on thier 5 day express is quite good and fast, but do not ever use the economy if you want it back this year. It is extremely slow, and truthfully, you dont save all that much, especially on smaller number of item submissions.

  • ANACS is very quick, except economy. Unfortunately the Post Office takes their own good time on registered. The good news is they rately lose registered mail.

    Now you tell me .....image
Ron is talking about a shipment I sent in quite some time ago.....Economy allright......These coins will be antiquities by the time they come back. Shipped on 11/12/04, received there on 11/17/04 and we're still thumb twiddling on 1/29/05.....
Boy, that is one long time. Never again economy ANACS for me.....
Edited to add....it was about 50 coins, but still, the money saved is not worth it. Perhaps on a 1000 coin submission it would be economically feasible.

ANACS is extremely fast as long as you don't use economy. I usually have a ~10 day Complete Turnaround time on 5-day Submissions (IE, in the mail on day 1 and back in my hands on day 10). The one time that they took 6 days (Their time) to grade an 11 coin 5 day submission, they didn't charge me at all for the entire submission, and it was still back in 11 days total turnaround.

The economy service is about 3-4 months.

I'll just post and echo the sentiments of most others. ANACS on 2-day or 5-day service is quite quick. If they say it will take 5 days, it takes 5 days; no more, no less. Factor in your shipping time to and from, and you can reliably get your coins turned around in two realtime weeks.

Economy, on the other hand, is only for the most patient. Three months is typical; four is not unheard of. I've used it on occasion, but only for coins that I had no need to see again anytime soon. The only good thing is that when the coins do come back, it's like Christmas, because by then you will have completely forgotten you had a submission in.
