New VAM Finds Today-Morgan and Peace

Went to the shop, just to pass time. I wanted to give a thorough look through the 21S Morgans, because I never paid much attention to them before. I asked Wolf what the Thorn Head looked like and he referenced the VAM book to get an idea.
So, based on that, I went in knowing a little of what to look for.
Out of 15 21S Morgans, I pulled out two with the permanant gouge between the leaf and the cap fold. I went ahead and bought those for $10.00 each (grades are about XF and AU). After examining the VAM update when I got home, I have one that appears to be the VAM 1B4a and the other one I think is VAM 1B6.
The Peace Dollar find was a VAM 2B Whisker Chin in AU.
Edited: The first coin is VAM 1B4a and the second coin I now think is VAM 1B6. These are based on Rob's webpage. Great site Rob!
Thanks, Richard.

Or kindly send them to me, and I will post the pictures for you
Gotta love my coin shop owners.
If I lived close to someone who owned one of them nice QX3/5, I would swing buy and pay them to take pictures for me.
I'd like to see some photos or scans too!
You've got two great finds there. I look at a LOT of 21-S coins and these all of the VAM-1Bx thornhead series are tough finds. The VAM-1B6 is most common but still rare. 1B4 and 1B3 are great coins. Pics are available on my web site of the whole series.
As many are aware, I had a web server failure ay my hosting provider and most of my site was trashed. I'm starting the rebuld process and have a few pages back up. With your find, I moved my thornhead page rebuild to the top of the list. First cut is online at: http://www.rjrc.com/vams/1921_s_vam_1b.htm Slowly but surely I'll get it back in shape. The silver lining is that I got to rework the look and feel and like it much better than my old site.
I'm still hunting the elusive VAM-1B7! Please PM me if you find one.
Regards,
Rob

That's good to hear! I didn't realize how much I referenced your web site until it quit working!
Semper ubi sub ubi
Thank you for the reply. I did use your site allot, too. I am glad you are getting it back up and running and I do like the new format. Very easy to use.
Thank you.
