  • Norway, 15 stykker, 1 rigsdaler C#26. Using an old Craig "Coins of the World" (3rd edition, 1976) book, so the information is obsolete. But at least you know what country it is, now. According to Craig: issued 1795-1802, value for F=$7.50.

I've found a listing for a 1/15 specie dollar in the Norway section of the 3rd edition 18th centrury Krause, but while the date is correct, the oval arms are not the same, nor are the initials of the mintmaster

I assume that it is KM 271 which the 3rd edition of Krause does not have a picture of.

However, you are correct about the mintmasters initials not being listed. image

Forrer says that Mint-Master Michael Flor's initials were on Danish coins. He was a German that headed the mint at Altona, then Danish now a German town, apparently something of a suburb of Hamburg. He was active from 1787-1818 and the mint would have also produced coins for Norway. (Forrer, Vol. II, p. 106)
