Angled glass, different lights ... Is one pic better than the other?

Not that I could possibly compete with Wybrit, Cosmicdebris, Cacheman, Darkhorse, or all the other Darksiders who take such awesome pics, but I'm trying to get the hang of it

First pic taken with a "full spectrum" bulb; second one with a regular 100 watt incandescent bulb. One light aimed right at the angled glass, no photoshop except to combine the images into one. Your input would be greatly appreciated

edit to add: If they both suck, lemme know that, too

Personally I'd say that the first pic looks better than the second. The colours on the second image look a bit washed out to me!

I really like the 2nd pic, it's really clear and shows some great luster. Which one is closer to the right color?

Although I like the first one a little better, it looks like the file has been compressed a bit too much.

I think the detail on #two is outstanding, compare the eye and neck areas. The luster is also more evident in #2.

I like #1 due to the fact that it is closer to the actual color,I believe.

Hmmmm, I like #2 the best.

Looks like we are pretty evenly split on this one...

I like #1 because it shows the color better. I think it is slightly out of focus which softens the details.

#2 makes the coin look like its gold.

#1, Copper can be a booger to get the color and luster to show correctly....
