1921-S Morgan - die gouges obverse and reverse

Anyone know what VAM this is? It's a 1921-S with a double/triple date and triple stars. There are die gouges or scratches on both sides of the coin in a dozen or more places. Some of them look like the die was polished to cover them. I couldn't find any VAM with similar gouges (or even one).

  • Nice gouges, sorry haven't a clue on the VAM.

Is that the dreaded PVC contamination I see??

Remember it's not how you pick your nose that matters, it's where you put the boogers.

Probably. I'm red-green color blind and have a hard time seeing shades of green against grey. I'll give it a soak in some acetone.

I'm only showing a third of the gouges. The coin is covered on both sides.
  • so what do I do with a coin with a few dozen die gouges?
