Not a good week for one of my Ebay bidders

Over a week goes by with no communication from a bidder who won one of my auctions. I send him a polite "reminder" note, asking he respond telling me his intentions, etc. He has excellent feedback.
Several days later I receive an apologetic email in which he tells me his woes about his computer dying, and sending the email from the local library. I reply telling him no problem. MO arrives today, and in the note is a P.S. saying "Hope you can read this. I lost my glasses."
Hope he can see the coin in the envelope, when it arrives.

That doesn't sound too bad. Because I travel a lot, it may be weeks before I get payment out for a purchase. Haven't had a problem yet, and I don't think a month is unreasonable.
<< <i>It's because of situations like this that I wouldn't even consider hitting a buyer with a negative until at least thirty days past the auction. >>
And even after 30 days, I make sure I've sent 'em at least three emails (the original and at least two reminders) before I neg 'em. Some folks have given me the benefit of the doubt when I've been slow or sloppy, and I try to do the same for others, unless they're obviously tryin' to scam me or lie to me.
I'm sure that he appreciates your understanding. You both did the right thing.

I know the feeling.
Won an ebay auction this week. Normally, I like to email/pay right away, but I wanted to make sure of all the costs (couple of items together from same seller, etc).
So I wait for his invoice.
I get it right before going to work.
Can't get my personal email from work because I have it set up to delete when downloaded so it isn't on there.
Run into issues with work
Get home very late.
Figure "oh well, it can wait 1 day, right?"
Next day, print out the info but forgot to email the seller.
Can't paypal with this guy. have to send check/MO
Forget print out at home. Can't send it yesterday. (2 days so far)
Get home from late night basketball game (at least we won ) and power is out.
Go to bed.
Power comes back on and wakes us up.
This morning, get print out/check/envelope ready.
Mail them.
ebay was having problems for me and I still haven't replied to his email.
So, things do happen to the best of us. My money is on the way but I haven't even been able to tell my seller that yet (3rd day).
Anyone want to neg me for it?
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Actually, I got out of the habit of posting negatives for non-paying bidders. Much more effective to file to get your fees back. Once the buyer gets enough strikes for not paying, they're gone.

You can't be serious?
You think that not getting around to paying for an auction for a month is reasonable?
Some people are pround of that 100% feedback rating. I know I'm proud of mine and hope I'm lucky enouph to continue having bidders like that.
