Fight the Red Menance, scan included! "Unearthed" after 2 years!!

Here is a small sample of cards from the 1951 Bowman Red Menace set, which I thought my ex-girlfriend had stolen. Along with stunningly grusome artwork for the time period, and the Cold War propaganda on the back, these are some of the nicest non-sports cards from the 50's. Any information about this set would be helpful! I haven't checked the registry sets, but I am sure this is one of the most popular non-sports wars sets. Some other sets to look at are "Freedom's war" and "Horrors of war."

Childrens crusade against communism is another name for these cards too.
Card # 35 A Visit by the Red Police (the bottom card of the family being beaten up)
Why is this Russian family being arrested? Perhaps the radio is a clue. The people may have been listening to the "Voice of America". The "Voice" you know, is a radio program, in which out State Department tells the truth about the free world. The Red leaders do not eant the Russian people to learn what real freedom is like, they may ask for it themselves. But who reported this family tuned in on the "Voice"? Perhaps someone they thought was a friend. Who can tell who may be a spy for the secret police.
Wow! I get scared reading this even today. Imagine back in the 50's with Mcarthyism, and the Cold War!

Here's how the face of McCarthyism affected me as an 8-year old kid growing up in NYC - I can remember my mom running down the street to tell me and my buddies not to play touch football in front of a particular neighbor's house......if you pissed her off, she'd call the FBI and tell 'em you were hosting a Communist cell!
