HOW Question

I'm not a non-sport guy, but I love following your threads and viewing the cards you post. I have a question, though. Are the Hitler cards in the HOW set exceedingly rare, or is the value based purely on the subject matter?

    H.O.W. is generally regarded as the grandaddy and most desirable of all the 30s-era card sets, but even though it's a non-sport set, you can't deny star power.

    Not only are the Hitler cards in the difficult high series, I would guess that a good deal of them got "defaced" in their day for somewhat obvious reasons....

    The last 12 cards (#277 to #288) are the scarcest of the HOW set and all 3 Hitler cards (#277, 283 & 286) are in that group. Check out Ebay #6149936855 (Sorry don't know how to post links) for a group of poor HOW cards that includes #277 with a chunk missing from the bottom. Opening bid is $2.00.
