Declared value ?

ok im gearing up to send in my first cards. a few questions...
1) Declared Value of cards: Is this a guess or should I use SMR 8,9,10 values based on what i think the card will grade at? which leads to # 2 question.
2) When figuring postage for returning the cards to me how do i figure the declared value if i have no idea what the cards will be graded at thus their value? Use same value as question #1? ex. back of form says 1-8 cards declared value 1001-5000 cost 16.60. Just go with that to be safe? and i assume thats for all my 6 cards not for each card?
3) My first submission i get 6 free grades. How/where do i mark this on the form? The CARD GRADING section of the form has no place for "free" grades. I assume i check "Regular" but don't know for sure.
4) Packing: PSA says to use a mylar sleeve then into the card savers. I dont have any mylar sleeves, can i buy them at walll mart ? or can i pack them right into the card saver II's
Well thats all for now :-)
Thanks for helpin a brother out. I really appreciate it!

2) See #1. The shipping costs are for all six cards.
3) You should have received a special form for the six freebies along with several regular forms.
4) You don't have to use mylar sleeves, in fact, if you use card saver II's, it is difficult to use mylar sleeves. PSA recommends mylar sleeves in addition to card saver I's. I believe they have a disclaimer if you use II's stating that they won't be liable for any damage.
Also, if you are sending your cards registered, you cannot use slick-backed tape. The post office has brown paper tape to use. That is how I do it.

I can't help you with the declared value. I estimated on the low side. I guess it comes down to how much you are willing to risk for insurance purposes. For example if you declare that they are worth less then they are you may lose some $$ if they get lost in the mail. On the other hand, if you overestimate the value, you will pay more for insurance. I went with the lower declared value and put my trust in Fedex/USPS not losing my package.
Hope this helps.
yes, i did receive my membership materials but there were so many things in there i just overlooked the the instuctions.

I am from the Chicago area and yes, you can get card sleeves at the Wal-Mart, however whenever possible try to patronize a local sportscard shop. The internet and big shows are making them a rare business nowadays.
Good luck on the subs.
