1889-O Rotated Morgan

This is pretty worn. It's an 1889-O Morgan with about a 45 degree rotated die. I've heard anything over 30 degrees has a slight premium, but people prefer 90 degrees or higher.
Any idea of the value? Grade?

If I sent the coin to PCGS for grading they'd give me VG10 (no lines inside cotton bolls), but anyone else might get Fine-12.

The last rotated die price guide I have from Michael Fey was Winter 2003... it showed an 1889-O in F/VF at $125. I'd guess that makes yours in the $75-$100 range.
    When in doubt, don't.

Fine 12, but I have no idea as to price (cool coin though).

    Cool coin,I'd buy it.

I picked up a 1901-o Morgan, rotated rev 40 degree counter clock wise,at the coin shop for $25 about a year ago,had it slabbed, came back F15.

Still not sure what it's worth, can't find much on the value of such a coin.

    Nice find though.

  • I think $75-$100 might be a little on the high side for a coin with so little rotation in low grade, $30-$50 would probably be more realistic but if you put it on Ebay at the right time. You never know if the right two people showed up and wanted it bad enough, I have seen it happen before.
  • I'll take all you've got at $75. PM me! image
