No. They did one with permission once, though.

I didn't think they would dip a coin even if you asked them to

I didn't ask. They asked me.

  • They melted one of mine once. Does that mean anything? image

They may have once. I sent in a coin with a print on it and I got a coin back without a print on it. I'm sure it was the same coin.

it's no mystery that pcgs will dip coins if they feel it appropriate. i think they've offered that svc since day 1

I had a ultra modern Kennedy half dollar in a PCGS PR-66 holder that looked horrible. Sent it in for regrade and they asked if they could dip it. I said yes, and it came back looking like a very nice PR-66. Low value coin, but they will dip, if appropriate.

I gave them a 77-P MS66 Ike Dollar at FUN and asked them if they could "fix" it. It had some ugly
splotches. I just got a check for $295 instead. I was really hoping to get the coin fixed,...but I won't
cry about it. Hopefully, I can find (or make) another to replace it.
Nice to know that they stand behind their grading!

I sent a 1972/1972 Lincoln to ANACS in a PCGS holder for crossover in order to complete a set of all ANACS holdered 72 DDO's. Anacs sent it back saying it was recolored. I sent it to PCGS asking for Presidentail revue and Mr. Hall himself called and asked if he could dip it. I said sure. About an hour later a call came in saying the check (and the BB coin) where in the mail.
