Newby - with a Franklin grade question

Im new to the forum, but have been reading hear very often over the last two years or so. I've been collecting for about 15 years. Mostly silver.
Since its not kosher for a newby to just say "Hi". I have a question about the grade on this Franklin.
This coin was advertised with a group of other Franklin halves on Ebay (sight unseen "grab-bag" type deal) as in VG+ condition. All of the others in that group were in VG condition, this one however is not. The seller and I sent emails and pictures back and fourth for a week arguing about the grade of this coin. He held firm that this was in VG conditon. I gave it a G or less conditon since the rims are completely gone and is blending into all of the lettering. So what think you?
Yes, I know that these type of auctions are a "deserve what you pay for" type things, but I think I only ended up paying about $2.00 for each coin. He said that he would offer a refund if the grades were wrong, but he would never admit that he was wrong. Oh well.

ps. Welcome to the forums!
Honestly I have never seen a Frankie with that much wear, but.........I'd say it could go a VG...still a lot of detail left on the coin. The real questions is...why does it mater? The coin is worth Melt or about what you paid for whether it's VG or VF so I wouldn't sweat it
it is only `junk silver`. Is there really a
substantial price difference between 4 and 8
for these coins in those grades?
just tell the seller you respectfully disagree
with their assessment of the grade on that
coin and let it go at that.
btw, welcome to the forum.

Understandable but hey, mountains out of molehills ya know. If it were between ms66 and ms65 then yeah, raise a stink. I wouldn't trip on it too bad with this particular instance. Pick your battles buddy
I like "junk silver".
G at a coin store .
Good melt value though at 2$ a coin!

I disagree, I think it is just fine for a newbie to just say "Hi"
Welcome!
