Woo hoo, I'm at exactly 50% on my 55 Topps Baseball

In PSA 5-7 with most of the big stars still to go. Man this is tough, I'll hopefully get there someday.

Go Eagles!image

Take care.

    Hi Scott
Congratulations! The marathon is half completed...who else is doing this set? Were you here when there was a guy named Bearsnum? He was doing the set and just fell of the face of the planet! Good guy from El Paso. I know Lothar is working on this set or did he complete it?

Wish I could help you - the only 55s I have are OC. Good luck on the remainder!

    Hey Mike
Thanks for the kind words. I was not around when Bearsnum was working on his set. I'm not sure if Lothar is still working on it either. I know WinPitcher is, he's at about 19% or so I think but he has most if not all of the stars and they are all really nice. Ripublicaninmass is also working on it but I'm not sure if he's on the registry. Man is it fun........................and addicting.

Well as long as we are talking about progress, I just picked up a key to my 63F set - Don Drysdale for 102.50 - smr is 175$. It is nicely centered R/L but just OK on the top. At that price, I will be very happy with the card. I'm not as fussy as others about the centering - especially if the price is right! I think I'm at 40% - which means it will take me another two years to complete!

Mike, keep it going! I doubt I will ever tackle a true vintage graded set. My wife would kick my a$$. I enjoy reading all of the vintage collectors thoughts on their sets. It inspires me to keep it up with my 1978 Topps set.

Congrats on the Drysdale. I still adhere to the advice you gave me about being patient and setting limits. It will probably take me two years to complete my 55 Topps so we'll share a few Budweiser's in 2007!

Any complete graded set is an accomplishment, especially ones with that many cards. Continued good luck on the 78's.
