Selling on the Boards.....

As a collector, how can I safely sell my coins on these boards, securing both my interests and those of a potential purchaser??? Any thoughts, experiences?? Thanks!

Good/solid references (from fellow forum members and/or elsewhere) should be obtained from unknown buyers and given to those who don't know you.

If for some reason that is impractical, you might consider using a well known escrow company.

    See Rigistry Forum thread.
  • I have sold very few items on here , but I have bought many more items from many sellers. It's been a very good experience buying from the sellers on this board. No hassle , send ya money and you will get the mechandise. As for the items I have sold ....No problems there either. I recieved the cash , I sent the items ......no problems. Personally, I would buy from this board all day long than any other place. Now if only they would carry more half-dimes.......... imageimage

    PURPLE!

****edited to say.....I use Paypal and Money orders. Only way to fly

The question should be, "how do I get members to trust me to sell coins here"

As a buyer I take all the risks. If you have a coin I want I have to send you the money before you send the coin.....that's pretty safe as I see it.
Make sure you charge for insurance & buy it. State shipping charges & how you plan to ship, Priority is nice, and depending on weight only a bit more than first class.

Quite a few members, including myself, have been burned by low-lifes that sold misrepresented coins.image

  • I've never had a problem. Deal with collectors with rating over 250, then you'll be safe. plus what others have said, like references.
PCGS sets under The Thomas Collections. Modern Commemoratives @ NGC under "One Coin at a Time". USMC Active 1966 thru 1970" The real War.

I have had numerous transactions with forum members without any problems. When there are problems, which are extremely rare, the community usually finds out rather quickly. As you are a relative newcomer here, the burden of proof will be on you.

I would rather buy from members of this board than anywhere else. Everyone I have bought coins
from have bent over backwards to make the transactions a good experience.

I have both bought and sold on the BST many times
    all have been good experiences.
references are good to get if possible
The boards have been the best thing to
happen to me in a long time.

I have bought from this forum many times and have been very satisfied with all transactions. I agree with Smittys. Wish there would have been internet and this forum when I started collecting 30 years ago.
  • Thanks everyone!!! I posted this also on Set Registry Forum....please see my "thanks" there as well!!!

I have also had the same experiences as most of you. Trouble free transactions both ways. The 250 he is refering to are the post #"s under your name. Fredimage

One thing I'd like to add.
If you contact a seller make sure you pay for the item you asked to be reserved for you!Don't walk out on deals you have made
