FSH: Only PCGS & NGC MS69 2005

I have a few 2005 First Strike PCGS MS69 coins and NGC MS69. (I can only assume these are also First Strikes since we're still in January. They are @ @25 ea plus 1.50 postage ea. These will be going up this summer, bet you. If you don't have yours yet, don't you think you ought to! WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY'RE NO LONGER FIRST STRIKES? These that are identifies as such will most likely bring more$$$$$. Ummmmmmmm!!!!!

So you are saying they strike a few on a set of dies (thus first strikes) and then replace the dies for use later when they are not "first strikes"?

I would think a MS69 is a MS69, but to me they are just bullion. I will go get my first strike for $8.

The PCGS are FIRST STRIKES because it is identified on the case which NGC does not do. This isa the first year that PCGShas done this. An MS 69 coin is not always an MS69. Not maybe because it's been looked at so many times, but if it's not stored properly it could become hazy, water spots etc, etc. GOT IT?

No one says you must collect these, you may as well have silver rounds. BUT if you're looking for professionally graded coins, as many people do these days, this is the time to get them. I can't answer the die situation, but I'd recommend you talk to PCGS if you want this matter cleared up, I'm sure they'll oblige you. I also collect raw silver eagles too. PCGS, NGC and ICG are my babies. There is a difference in buying raw silver as rounds and collector coins. Do you think a copper coin is worth more than raw copper? Or raw silver, is it worth more than a silver coin? That should answer the question.

I just have to say "talk to me in a few years about your raw coin, and see if it's worth more than my professionally graded coin" !!!

Hey Adriana: lighten up, will ya? If you want to post on this forum, you have to have a thick skin. Also, $25+postage for first strikes? If you want to sell at that price, you have to go somewhere else. Most of the folks on this board are knowledgeable numismatists, not dummie newbies. image

Sorry but my skin is very thin and you'll know that when you get older. I make a few bucks selling coins so I can afford to buy those coins that I need for my collections and there's always somebody that begrudges you of that. I think $25 for an MS69 PCGS is reasonable since they're already selling on ebay for $29.95 plus postage. I'll keep on plugging, THANK YOU!
