What date were these entered at PCGS? And were they regular or economy?

    Very pleasing result there.

I'd love to see a scan of the 1899-S... my brain is having trouble picturing what a Fair-02 gold piece looks like.
    When in doubt, don't.

  • Oooh! Ohoh!

Can't wait to see some pics!

I have a few in myself and Im fearing a couple of body bags may be in my future.

K6AZ, regular submission, entered 12/23, took 18 days.

Russ, the 1803 H10c is interesting - I graded the coin at VG obverse and AG reverse so I figured a net grade of probably G4. Since I'm after low grades, I like the AG3 but I really fail to understand why it graded so low...... but a coin I needed for my type set and hard to find!

DennisH, here's a $3 Gold and a $10 Gold in FR02 grade for wear comparison.....pretty darned worn! Nice downgrade that will replace the AG3 in my set.

Congratulations! Wow, you are moving very fast with your type set. How many of your coins get bodybagged? Do you have a high success rate with yours?

    Tom,

Surprisingly, I have only had one coin out of probably 150 low grade coins I've submitted get body bagged....which is really quite amazing! I've had several returned ungraded as the coin was gradeable but the mintmark wasn't discernable (to the grader) - not technically a BB and I did get refunds for my submission fees. But, the coin that was BB'd was for rim filing which I never saw when I bought it - but since it was a 1795 $1, I learned an expensive lesson about looking at more than the obverse and reverse!

I currently have 35 more coins in at PCGS for grading - 15 of which I should receive grades on in a week or so and the balance of 20 being an economy submission that I probably won't see till end of Feb or early March.....we'll see if my luck holds up or not. image

BTW, this is probably the poorest PO01 in my set (a 1797 Large Cent):

  • Yes that 97 cent takes the cake! That's a centerpiece to work around.

    Nice job on the 99-Simage

I would think the half cent would not be too tuff in that grade...but this isn't my field!
