Type Set Accomplishment: Seated Halves

I posted my FUN win already, but didn't mention that I reached one (of many) milestones in my type set pursuit: I have all of my "required" Seated Halves!!

- 1839: No Drapery, XF-40
- 1840: With Drapery, XF-45
- 1853: Arrows and Rays, XF-40
- 1854O: Arrows only, AU-53
- 1858: return to no Arrows, AU-50
- 1869: with Motto, XF-45
- 1874: with Arrows, XF-45
- 1876: Arrows removed, AU-55

Quick, someone identify a type I don't have! I like these things! image

Favorite? I like the deep color and nice detail of this one.....but favorite is really tough. image

My icon coin is the 1876, which I also like alot...plenty of luster remaining.

On the other hand, the 1853 is pretty washed out, and obviously dipped. I bought it sight-unseen, and it needs upgrading...but they're expensive!

    congratulations on the "extended" set

most folks stop at 3 and just get the no motto, arrows, and with motto varieties.

edit: it's all the type collectors putting the pressure on the 1853 arrows&rays.
it's a relatively common date, but popular as a type piece and one year issue.
