Nice straight steps, squared off at the ends => Reverse of 1940. Nice photograph. For MS, I believe that is the common variety. For Proofs, the Reverse of 1938 is the common variety.

I thought this was a R40. Of course, it is listed in the slot for R38 now as it is an old green holder. Suppose I should get that fixed.
