Selling raw coins: ebay or coin shows

Would you expect to get better prices at a coin show from dealers or on ebay for uncirculated washington quarters. There isn't anything special about these, they are MS63-64 at best. I have a couple of sets that are 90% complete and I would rather concentrate on slabbes MS66 coins from now on.

If they're common date, then eBay might be a better route--depends how much they're worth. Dealers don't tend to pay as strong for cheaper coins. If they're better date, then it might get a better price in person because a dealer can see the coin in hand.

try the b/s/t board first mikey.

kind of figure out what you would like to get for them on ebay.........subtract some for fees, hassles with moronic ebayers,............and ask that price for them.

I'd say with all the blatant overgrading on eBay, you're most likely to get better money for raw coins selling them sight seen.
  • I would definately go ebay. I've had terrible luck trying to sell at coin shows. For example, I had a 14D Lincoln in good to VG condition and was offered 50 bucks from 3 different dealers. My 09Svdb in good was offered between 150 and 200 from 2 dealers. Easily could get double that on ebay! Just my experience in Lincolns, could be different for other coins.

eBay is the way to go.
