US Mint information???

Does anyone know where I can find information on US mint item numbers and how much they sold for?

I have a couple of unopened boxes of "something" I ordered from the mint. They have the item number on them. I would like to find out whats inside without opening them. I would also like to know how much proof and mint sets sold for in previous years. Is this information available online somewhere?

You can find the issue prices of old proof and mint sets in the Red Book.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
