NGC to add southern gold series to registry!

Someone ( image ) requested on the NGC boards for Dahlonega $5's and New Orleans No Motto $10's to be added to the NGC Registry. David Lange replied, "Those are both worthwhile sets. We have several projects already underway, but these can be added in the not too distant future. "

    Robert,

Please consider this reply to be a serious-as-a-heart-attack death threat for bringing truly unneccessary publicity to our little market niche when we're both still buying coins!

    I'm not kidding!

I mean it! I'm really not kidding!

    I'm really, really serious!

There's no 'winkie' because I'm really serious!!

At the FUN show I talked to B. J. Searls of PCGS at there registry luncheon about a New Orleans registry set and said they will be doing one in the forseeable future, whatever that means, its about time since all the other Southern mints are represented!! Good deal at NGC its about time!!image

Dave, are you really serious? image Really?

I do not think it will necessarily increase the number of southern gold collectors, but it might increase the visibilty of the collections that are out there. It would be nice to know where some of these coins are going and to see the collections as they are assembled (or once they are assembled).
  • I hope NGC will allow you gold guys to provide input on the weighting. The Morgan weights are absurd.
