Opinions please...

Okay, the pics are bad b/c they're scans, but could I get some thoughts on Frank?

That's a nice looking Franklin, seems to be to be at least a MS65. Hard to tell above that grade though, even the best images won't do.
  • I added info to this thread for ya. As for this coin I would need bigger pics. In the thread below is a MS63 and a MS64 coin you can compare it to.

    Your first thread
  • Okay, let me see if I've got these a bit bigger...

You could make them three times as large, but to really be able to give a grade above 65 I would need to see the coin in hand. There are things an image just will not show, no matter how good or how large.

is that long line behind the neck a scratch on the coin?
if so, thats a bummer. it would drop the grade a few points
    to maybe a 62
  • Gotcha, I was just disappointed b/c the coin looks so much better to me and my husband than the pic is showing.

  • those are about 40k pics. With Photobucket you have up to 250k before they resize the image. if ya scanner can do it scan them at about 1200 dpi and change them to .JPG and flap those babies into photobucket.
  • No scratch behind the neck, just the poor image.

  • here are some larger pics for ya

    cool!!!
  • Is it? I don't know! I think it may just look that way b/c of the light with the scan.

If you could blow it up about 20x more than you have, I might be able to get a better feel for it.

Sorry, couldn't resist. image The more you blow it up the more folks will micro-grade it.

    That should do it

  • Ahhhhhh Nice size. The smaller ones wouldn't let me see if the bell lines are full or not. (stman)

The bell lines are not full because of the chatter on them......so FBL is out.
That obverse is pretty nice. Small ding on the cheek
The reverse has got ya tho.
    I'll say(conservativly) 64 Obverse and 63 Reverse.

  • I'm guessing 64 even with the reverse. I may be compensating for my tendancy to grade low.image
The strangest things seem suddenly routine.
