    The best advice:

    1. Buy the book before you buy the coin. Education makes the hobby more fun.

    2. Invest in the stock market, not in the coin market...keep it a hobby and you'll enjoy it more.

    3. Buy the coin and not the holder. Never let a piece of plastic determine whether or not you like a coin.

    4. Never buy from a home shopping show or a full-page newspaper ad, and be very careful of who you buy from in numismatic publications.

    5. Share your hobby and knowledge with others.
