my new toned Washies (grades given)

These arrived today and I am thrilled by the toning and the condition.
I'll post grades later for those who want to test their skills. They are
in old holders.

This has a light crescent along LIBERTY but is mostly white. The line on the
eye is on the holder. It's got that shimmering luster you find on half dollars
and dimes from this period:

This coin has more toning and exhibits rainbow toning across LIBERTY.
Unfortunately I couldn't capture this with the camera. Same liquid luster on
this one as the other.

Thanks, I plan on holding these for a long time. I'm building
a short-set of Walkers but these came along and I couldn't
resist. The rainbow on the '48 is beautiful to look at.

  • Both of these are in old green holder which the short fat PCGS letters
on the front. They were assigned a grade of MS65, but they are much
cleaner and have more eye appeal than my newer holdered MS65s.

What I am not sure about is the strike as far as upgrades.

  • The 47S could be upgraded to MS66 in my opinion. The 48S would most likely remain at MS65. Both are very nice coins, and thanks for sharing them! image
We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

That first one is beautiful... and I don't collect quarters...
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!
