Here's the scoop:
1) The coin's rim slightly juts out (elongated) in front of Ms. Liberty's face
2) The coin feels too heavy.
3) The edge reeding is intact
4) it's not a counterfeit.
5) The planchet is slightly thicker at one end (the end with the extended rim).
It grades around AU, and has been harshly cleaned. So, any guess what this coin is?

Defective planchet
A silver round (unlikely)
A proof (similarly unlikely)
No guess here, sorry. I am interested to see what other morgan folks have to say.

Interesting coin. One of my guesses would be a MAD, or mis-aligned die. As for the thickness on one side over the other, do you have access to a scale? I would be interested in knowing its weight.
Funny you should mention this coin. Yesterday I found one which looked thicker than other 21s I had. Need to weight it though.

Clearly heavy though, what were you thinking of???. Ryana's comment made me look for known 21-P proof diagnostics, thank you sir. Does have a mild Zerbe U UNUM scratch on the obverse, but the surface is not like a Zerbe. Very doubtfull.
