Without addition information and photos it's difficult to correctly attribute your coin. However, take a look at these descriptions and see if you coin has the following attributes:
FROM THE VAM KEYS
1886-O "E on Reverse"
VAM 1A Clashed Die Reverse PF:10
-"E" Clash Mark from "E" of Liberty on the Obverse Die
-Two clashes inside right wreath on Reverse
-Seven clashes inside right wreath
Key Identifier: Dramatic clashed "E" under eagle's tailfeathers, to the left of the ribbon bow.
Comments: The VAM 1A is rare in strict BU condition, and can be found with either two or seven clashes on the Reverse.

The VAM encyclopedia indicates the obverse for a VAM-1A should be III (superscript 2) 1- Normal die of III (superscript 2) type with closed 6.
The Minor Design Type for III (superscript 2) Obverses (pg 103 in the 4th Edition VAM Encyclopedia) indicates with photos..."Long wheat leaf below R (Close to R with weak lines), short wheat leaf between leaf stalks, LIBERTY letters thinner with shorter serifs on B and R. Long lines between cotton bolls. Point of Liberty head neck between denticles)
The way you describe the Obverse it sounds like you have a very interesting coin. I and others might want to see some of your other photos.
The feature next to the eagle's left leg might be a clash as well. This area looks like it would be opposite the hair/cotton boll area of your coin. See if there are any details on the obverse that resembles this feature.
If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!!

Can you provide an image of the possible E below the tail feathers? This is sounding quite intersting!

Your coin is clashed, though...no doubt.
