    A likely story.

If they were really found in the trash, don't you think you may want to contact the police to see if any robberies or burglaries involving rare coins were recently reported in the area...just in case a thief felt the heat and was trying to discard the evidence?

If someone bids on these coins after reading the 'story' and seeing that the seller has zero feedback, then I'd say they deserve to lose however much money they bid...I mean come on, surely you could come up with a better story than 'hey, I just found these 200 year old coins in the trash that look like they're gold, I don't know anything about them, but I'm told they are highly collectable, so before I seek any sort of opinion as to the value of them, I'm just going to put them up on e-bay'. Jeez.
  • I like the high bidder, " I can't stand scammers" the both are scammers....image

As obvious of a scam as that appears to be, his other listing Link sends off even more red flags. A minimum bid of only $100 for (4) $50 Mexican 50 Pesos pieces is even more suspicious in my book.

I see that a new Ebayer has bid on both listings. I would have been honored to have bid myself, but was recently booted off of Ebay for trying to expose scammers. And, my appeal to be reinstated was denied twice.

Man, it's impossible to get them to act against scammers, but boy, dare to expose them and YOU get canned.

    What a system.

    Ziggy99, sad but true.

I think the final straw for me was getting booted for bidding in order to leave negative feedback for a scammer (using at least his third different Ebay identity), whom I and others had exposed twice previously when he was "selling" under his previous two identities. image

Damn. I knew I should've checked those envelopes before throwing them away! I wondered why they made a clanking thump when they hit the trashcan! image

Sorry to hear that, Mark. Your intentions were obviously good, but I guess they don't want other people doing the police work for them.
