I have this ball. I don't know its background. I (tried) to take two pictures:
and:
Should I just send it in to PSA/DNA for a sig authentication? I am clueless on autographs. Looking for advice...
The little League ball has CARL STOTZ--FOUNDER OF LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL as the president opposite the autograph.
Thanks for taking the time

A rough guess would of course put the ball in that era. The Joe D auto look to be legit in my opinion. I would say that the sig is from the early 40's. The ink is showing some aging and the ball isnt an official mlb ball so that will affect value somewhat.
I agree that the auto is probably old and dated with the ball since the sig is much more flowery than anything that he did in more recent times - here's an exemplar from the psa/dna file that looks like the one you have on the ball. Not sure on the ball cost but a flat would set you back around 75 bucks - the fact that it is not an OAL ball will hurt the value and to boot, his autos appear to be soft right now compared to the Mick who is white hot for psa/dna balls.
Good luck on whatever you choose to do.

Just to reinforce my feeling on the market for Joe D. - I was just at the Coach's Corner auction site and they are auctioning off one dozen certified balls - you don't do that if they were hot?
Anyway, if you put this up on ebay - please let us know - I would actually be interested in the ball because it is a little leaguer.
thanx
