Productive or counter-productive e-Bay selling?

I just hit e-Bay a few minutes ago just to see what new might have been listed as far as walkers and saw that Fairtraderz had six new listings. Three of the six are for 1940-S MS-66 coins at all about the same price. Is it productive to give buyers multiple choices on e-Bay for the same graded coin or counter-productive to make it look as if MS-66 coins are so readily available? The scans reek, so I don't see how anyone could make any kind of determination.

Example:

  • Gad, that's a crummy looking 66. The strike on the obverse is very mushy -- no hand detail.
  • I believe, to get the maximum dollars for your coin, you should give the scarity of your coin you offering. let them believe that they are few coins on that year/grade combination.
  • I think listing that many coins - same grade and type - would hurt you overall, they seem "common" then. Its like those individuals listing six to ten PR70 Sacagewa's all at once. It makes them seem overly plenitiful and your net price realized takes a dive. I would think that perception would apply to any multiple listings of the same item.

On a regular auction I agree, it would hurt, but these "auctions" appear to be nothing more than Buy It Nowsimage-----------------BigE
