Why don't more people place their WANT list in the BST board?

Browsing through messages here on the open forum I have come across numerous posters that list their want lists in their signature lines, yet, I have not seen them post their want list/s on the BST board where others actively look for such lists.

Why don't more people post their want lists on the BST board considering more eyeballs would see these lists?

Are the want lists listed in the signature lines out of date?

I attend numerous estate and smaller coin auctions quite a bit and some of these auctions have some very nice premium coins to offer. Although I don't have the funds to buy everything that I'd like to buy, if people posted their want lists in the BST board I'd be able to copy and print them and keep my eyes open for that particular material.

Or, come to think of it, maybe CU could add a dedicated "Want List" board.

  • Personally, from what I've seen, a post on the BST is buried on the second page an hour later. To each their own!

I've tried the bst site a number of times and had no responses. I guess some business gets done there between parties but nothing happened with my requests so I don't even go there anymore.

They get lost in all of the ebay posts.

I've yet to receive a response, so why post more?

Where does he plan on gatting the $400 to pay for the '16 dime? Did he sell all of those flips he was begging for a while back? Or, does he also post as "Goldcoinlover" and is planning on selling all those counterfeit coins that are "In the mail" headed his way?image

Still, I think CU dedicating a board specifically to "Want Lists" is a good idea. That way the requests wouldn't be lost among Ebay posts as they currently are on the BST board.

It depends on what you looking for.
I use it but have not been able to buy anything yet.
I usually get offers of items I'm not looking for, or
    prices to make me run.

    "Like This? "

Yeah, but posting an acceptable price range per coin desired would help.

I post there with pictures of awesome coins because they are for sale and respect the US Coin forum general policy to NOT show coins here if they are for sale even if they blow you away. I generally post there about two or three times a week. Some cool morgans there now.

What Ken said.....IF it even lasts an hour before getting knocked to the 2nd page.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Maybe it's because of my charming personality, but a good 2/3rds of the time I've written someone to offer a coin they are looking for I don't get the courtesy of any response at all. As such I do not attempt to help any more even if I have the exact coin someone is seeking.
  • So far I'm happy. Looked for a Isabella and received an offer with pictures the next day.

When I needed some Frankies and Mercs, I posted on the BST and was inundated with PMs, all of which I responded to (including Tonelover's). In fact, people were so nice and helpful that I bought duplicates of some of the Frankies that I needed. Later, I sold them to GTG. Ironic.
