Vintage and Classic Baseball Collector Magazine question

The Gridiron Greats magazine thread made me think to ask if anyone knows why VCBC seems to have stopped publishing. I bought a few issues in the late 1990's under the previous publisher and enjoyed the content. I think they are now affiliated with Jay's Sports Connection. Their website is still working, but it seems that you can only get back issues. Any insight? Thanks.

I would imagine it wasn't profitable. With newsgroups like this one transmitting information at the speed of electrons for minimal cost, the cost of printing a niche market magazine would not be favorable to extended operations. It takes a real hardcore audience who would be willing to pay the cover price the probable dearth of advertisers would require.

  • I don't know what VCBC is doing, but check out "Old Cardboard's" magazine. I just received issue # 2 and it's great.

  • Thanks, Gatorbait. That is a neat site. I will try out a sample issue.
