Here's an eBay auction where the Title, the Description and the Picture are of three different coins

This is an auction I won. Ever seen anything like this??image

I think I should have insisted that they meet the obligation of the "description coin" which would be a 1950 DCAM Jefferson, but the 1955 was still nice.

That's pretty funny. I'm actually surprised there aren't more mistakes like that - especially by people that run dozens or hundreds of auctions every day. However, putting up a picture of a silver dollar for a cent auction is a little much. LOL

    I don't understand.

What coin did you win or better yet what coin does the seller think you won?

    Joe.

Edit: Did you confirm the coin prior or after the auction?

It won't be so funny when you get a 1922 Peace $1 NGC MS64 for $150 image

hey Joe(where you goin' with that gun in your hand)image sorry, i couldn't resist.

that's the wierd thing about the auction listing. when i won the coin it was all legit and in order for the '55DCAM. the coin arrived and feedback was left with everyone happy. i went into my feedback today trying to find an old coin i'd won and they don't list what the items are. when i opened this to see if it's what i was looking for, everything was.......amiss, or should i say a mess!!!

why would a seller do that deliberately?? i can't imagine, so it must be some kind of server mixup somewhere.

  • The words "crack" and "airplane glue" come to mind.

    Say "no" to drugs!

Seller is reusing the same file names for his pictures. Snce the old auction is still in eBays archives and it is linked to the file that is now being used for the 1922-D dollar, that is what showed up when you opened the archived auction.

what would be the reasoning for the description of a 1950 while the title is 1955??

  • THAT one I assume was a typo in the original listing (since you can't alter the listing after a bid has been placed.)
