On Ebay!! There was a super PQ looking 31-S Buffalo PCGS MS65. The high bid was $310 with 10 seconds to go. I put a bid in at $361....and lost it to someone 10 seconds later whose bid was $361.55. How can that be?? It could only have been worse if they had bid $361.01!!!! Dang......I didn't put any cents on the end of my bid...because I was $50 over the highest bid I could see.

I have no idea !
At 18:14:46 high bid was $310
18:14:47 mrrad bids $320 and you bid $361. Marcalan84 is out at $313.13, mrrad is out at $320 because your bid is higher. High bid is $320 +1 increment (I'm not sure what the increment is at this level, lt's say $5) so you have high bid at $325.
18:14:56 crowncty bids $361.55 Since his proxy bid was at least one increment over the current high bid it was accepted. Now you were out at $361 because his accepted proxy bid was higher than yours. The fact that the high bid is less than an increment above yours means that the $361.55 was his max bid as well.
Sometimes two or more bidders appraise the value about the same and it comes down to a few cents.
