Question on status of an NGC Mercury Dime submitted for cross-grading to PCGS

I have a bunch of orders in for grading, but one order I sent in was for 1 coin in an NGC holder for cross-grading. Called in to get status on the coin today and the customer service person told me it's out of grading and in the label printing phase. I asked her what the next phases are and she said sealing and verification.

So, here's my question -- I submitted this coin for cross-grading with a min grade that was the same grade as was on the NGC holder. Does the above mean this coin crossed??

I actually thought it might have been undergraded (believe it or not) in the NGC holder as well -- has anyone ever submitted for cross-grading from NGC and have it come back a higher grade?

I'm not sure if necessarily crossed even though the customer service person told you it is out of grading and in the label printing phase, etc., although the names of the latter phases would imply that. I've never sent in just one coin that did not cross, or have all the coins sent in not cross.

I've had several coins cross from NGC to PCGS and gotten a 1 point increase in grade- 64s to 65s, and 65s to 66s.

Not necessarily. The "phases" remain the same regardless of the dispensation of the coin. Marty had a pair of crossovers recently and they told him they were in "sealing" when he checked the status. We logically assumed that meant they crossed. After all, why would they need to be "sealed" if they didn't? Well, neither did.

Well, just burst my bubble image In my previous attempts I've called in they said the coin was in grading, in grading, in grading....and the ones that didn't cross (all but 1, which is the only one I've ever had crossed) that day, or the very next day I'd receive the dreaded DNC e-mail.

You're right -- the phases mean nothing! I called in last week and they told me the coin was in the sealing department. A couple of days later, while checking on other orders I was told it was in the final stages of verification (my hopes were high by this point!). E-mail last night -- DNC image

Missed this the first time around. Yes I have had a NGC graded merc upgrade. It went from NGC 63NB to PCGS 64FB. I also received a Email last night on cross overs. Two out of three made it. The one that did not cross I had some doubts about anyway. Its a funny game.
