I've had a few cards submitted to BGS/BVG. They caught one card as trimmed and another as "questionable authenticity". No doubt they make mistakes, but I don't think it's as pervasive as some would think. I've purchased quite a few graded cards over the last year and the only ones I absolutely don't trust are the ones from those fly-by-night places like GEM Elite, Pro Grading, Graded Rookies Auth., etc.. The ones from the "big four" (PSA, BGS, GAI, and SGC) have been fairly reliable for me.
