This coin here seems to be a cameo, doesn't it? I gotta ask; do you agree with his grade? Also, I know you'll all cringe at this question, but don't watery proofs dip nicely? I know alot of MS coins when dipped can show a dull grey luster, and then be rejected by PCGS, but I tried dipping common date DCAM Kennedy's, and they come out perfect. Do you think the same would result in this coin, and be gradeable by PCGS?

It might be cameo, though to me, it just looks like the fields are dirty and the devices have been cleaned! Of course, it's hard to tell from the pic, but I always ask myself, "If it's so nice, why not spend the $30 to get it authenticated, graded, and slabbed?"

I'd stay away.........

Look at the reverse shield; where are the vertical lines?

Well, on both the obverse and reverse, the lettering is dark/toned but the head (obverse) and the eagle (reverse) are bright. This may just be the picture/scan but I'm suspicious. On the reverse, why are the stars and ribbon so bright but the "D States of Ame" dark? Is this what you'd expect?

If it were album-toned the central devices might look like that. However, what struck me were the wing tips. They're right next to the letters but much, much brighter. Something is going on here, whether with the coin or the photography.

I agree. It doesn't look right to me, either.

I think this coin would end up with a paste-white finish if dipped, and thus would be body-bagged PCGS.

I think the perpherial areas a not as bright because of moderately heavy toning. There appears to be an old fngerprint behind the head and a little chatter in the field in front of the eyes. I suspect that if the coin was dipped the fields would show some hairlining and the fields would be dulled because of the heavy toning. I would not dip this coin, especially if it has any eye appeal in person at all because I think it would have less after the dip.
